Jamie Lewis has kept his dreams alive at the World Championship with a victory over James Richardson in the opening game of last night's evening session and he will be back today against Darren Webster with a spot in the semi-finals on the line for the winner.
Webster is a seed so it was more likely that the Demolition Man would make a good run but for Lewis who started out in the preliminary round he has stunned the darting world with some of his performances defeating Jonny Clayton, Peter Wright and now James Richardson as well as Kenny Neyens in the pre-liminary and admitted he was happy to get through against Richardson with the pressure firmly on his shoulders after his exploits against Wright.
"I'm so chuffed to get through that game, it was a bit of a tough one because we both probably didn't play as well as we could," said Lewis, who plays Darren Webster for a place in the semi-finals.
"I didn't really play like I did yesterday but I'm so happy to just get through it.
"I felt a little bit more comfortable as the game went on. I wasn't actually feeling that great before I went on backstage.
"I just didn't feel 100 percent but luckily I got there in the end and started playing the darts I know I can play near the end of the game."
