Klaasen eases through to round three, Tabern continues good form with victory over Beaton

Jelle Klaasen and Alan Tabern are the next two players through to Round Three at the 2018 German Darts Open, they defeated Maik Kuivenhoven and Steve Beaton respectively to secure their progression.
'The Cobra' was far from his vintage but did enough to see of the Dutch debutant Maik Kuivenhoven with an 83 average. This performance from Klaasen featured a 30% checkout percentage as well as 2 maximums thrown. He will now take on either Michael Smith or Steve Lennon tomorrow.
Tabern also was through with a 94 average as he continues his resurgence. He is now also on the verge of qualifying already for the European Championship for the first time in a number of years.
He defeated the experienced Steve Beaton who was making his return to the Euro Tour after not qualifying for the first few. He was a seed for this one but crashed out against the St Helens ace.

- Absolutely disgraceful, really I've said many times that ITV coverage is superior to SKY and SKY know that. Jacqui was absolutely fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Emma from SKY is more interested in what to wear than learning about darts. Chris Mason is absolutely the best and greatest commentator on TV, even better than Alex Jacques on F1 and Alex is absolutely brilliant. It is criminal that Chris and Alan will probably never be on TV again, what an amazing waste of talent. Poor Ned, who is just as excellent and knowledgeable on darts as the Tour de France has lost both gigs this year. The whole ITV team from presentation, commentary, production the whole team will definitely be missed and I have enjoyed every minute of their coverage. Thank you so much. John Part is the ONLY decent and knowledgeable person on SKY.
