Darius Labanauskas saw off Matthew Edgar in Sunday’s evening session in what was a three-one sets win for the Lithuanian.

‘Lucky D’ was asked after his win about whether he was nervous going into his debut at the Alexandra Palace and Labanauskas admitted he was as its a new atmosphere.
“I was a little bit nervous because it’s a new atmosphere, it sounds like a football match. First time I had this situation also was in Austria where I played Mensur (Suljovic),” he told Live Darts.
On whether he enjoyed the atmosphere, Labanauskas said that he did enjoy it but that he will likely enjoy it more when he faces Raymond van Barneveld in Round Two.
“Yeah it’s a good atmosphere, in the first time it’s not easy but in the second game I think I can relax more.”
He faces Raymond van Barneveld in the next round. Labanauskas said it’s a dream to play one of his favourite players.
“It’s my dream, he’s a legend. I follow him and Phil Taylor a long time ago and watched El Classico. He’s one of my favourite players and I’m happy to get him.”
