Last 16 Players Championship 7: Bunting too strong for Wright, Hopp beats Gurney

Stephen Bunting moved into his third quarter-final of the season after beating Peter Wright. The former Lakeside champion knocked out the top seed in the last 16 round of Players Championship 7. Bunting will now play against Adrian Lewis in the quarter-finals.
Jeffrey de Zwaan also reached his third quarter-final as he beats Robert Thornton 6-5. The Dutchman, who claimed two final spots earlier this season, is going to meet Max Hopp in the next round. The German youngster edged out Daryl Gurney. Dave Chisnall averaged 111 in a 6-0 defeat of Chris Dobey.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
