McGeeney looked solid against David Pallett in his first game on the big stage as a full Tour Card holder. He hit a 98 average with a high checkout of 132.
Menzies also looked good despite a torrid start to the year in edging out Wes Newton. He hit six 180's on the way as he saw off the former finalist.
There was also wins for the likes of Cody Harris and Kirk Shepherd; as well as Joe Murnan and Diogo Portela with no real shocks as of yet.
Barring that of Rob Collins seeing off Rowby-John Rodriguez 6-1 where 'Little John' despite coming into it in good form only averaged 77 and there was needle between the pair.
