Mensur Suljovic produced a stunning display to defeat Robert Thornton 4-2 and move through to Round 3 of the
World Darts Championship at the Alexandra Palace.
Suljovic and Thornton had the honour of kicking off the proceedings and were back and forth throughout in a thrilling encounter which could easily of gone all the allocated legs.
'The Gentle' though produced a magical 121 checkout with Thornton on a 25 finish to potentially send it into another set. Average wise, Suljovic averaged 90.66 and Thornton averaged 93.51, in terms of doubling, he hit 14/31 of his doubles with 4 100+ finishes to his name.
He will face his The Sportsman Management Company stablemate Dimitri van den Bergh who has impressed over the past few months including today in his Round 2 win.
