The Irishman smashed Michael van Gerwen in a clinical display where MVG wasn’t at the races.
This was shown with him averaging only 87 to O’Connor’s 95. 6/7 on the doubles claimed him the tie and a huge win.
Also through includes Daryl Gurney who had to survive 2 match darts against Ryan Searle in a deciding leg.
Searle who has been bang in form averaged 100 the same as the victor.
Finally Wright eased through with a 6-2 victory with 6/11 doubles in dominant display. With Van Gerwen out, ‘Snakebite’ will be the new favourite.
