Starting off proceedings will be Stephen Bunting and Dimitri van den Bergh. Bunting along the way to exiting his group has a highlight of a 5-1 victory over Scott Mitchell and like his opponent is in form. This in turn could lead to a very good match between the pair. Second up sees Gerwyn Price versus Josh Payne. Price has probably had one of the best years of his career, in his progression through it wasn’t all plain sailing with a win over Andrew Gilding, then a closely fought win over Glen Durrant followed by a comeback loss to Simon Whitlock. Whitlock who plays in the last game of the night hit two 170 checkouts on the way to edging out ‘The Iceman’. Payne though is also in good form like Price and has looked great all year. He was helped through of sorts by Jim Williams but he still had to win the legs required against Peter Wright. Then reigning world champion Rob Cross will face Mensur Suljovic. Cross in particular has looked superb so far but will have a tough test in The Gentle. This is despite Mensur only winning one of his group games and relying as a result on Scott Mitchell losing. He is through though and will want to stake his claim for the title against Cross. In the final game it sees Peter Wright clash with Simon Whitlock. The Australian in particular has been impressive in spells so far and they could provide a brilliant game as a result. All of the action begins at 7pm tonight with a bumper session of darts.
