Polish ace Ratajski won an incredible 11 Eastern European qualifiers for
European Tour events in 2017. He has now won three in 2018, thanks to victory at ET Qualifier 8. The Polish Eagle opened the tournament in Prague with a 6-2 win over Michael Smejda. Nandor Bezzeg and Peter Martin were both thrashed, before Ratajski overcame Karel Sedlacek 6-4. In the final, the UK Open Qualifier 6 champion defeated Tamas Alexits 6-2. He broke throw four times and averaged 94.05 in the win. After opening with a 12-darter, Ratajski proved too strong for the Hungarian. Victory earned him a spot at the Danish Darts Open in Copenhagen.
Koltsov, who recently signed a deal with
Winmau, won his first qualifier at ET9. The Russian's first opponent of the day in the Czech Republic was Ratajski. But it was the Rocket who succeeded, coming out the 6-5 winner. He then beat the Hungarian pair of Alexits and Bezzeg to reach the final. Sedlacek stood in Koltsov's way, but the Russian World Cup representative came out on top. He struck four 180s and four 14-dart legs as a 6-3 success confirmed the title. Koltsov will appear at the European Darts Matchplay in Hamburg.
