The road to the Lakeside World Darts Championships next month finishes this weekend as the
BDO's best fight it out in the Finder Darts Masters 2017.
Reigning mens champion Glen Durrant will be hoping to continue the form he exhibited in his previous tournament, the cross code PDC/BDO Grand Slam of Darts at the Wolverhampton Civic as he kicks off his defence against Jim Williams of Wales.
Mark McGeeney though is the number 1 seed and will take on the corresponding loser of the match in his group and as will Aileen de Graaf, last year's Ladies winner and number 4 seed.
Of today's games, the likes of Cameron Menzies are in action against Conan Whitehead, Justin van Tergouw and Jarred Cole both hot prospects in the world of darts start off their campaigns with tests against Nathan Girvan and Keane Barry respectively who are also hot prospects in their own right.
Lorraine Winstanley, the Winmau World Master is also in action on the opening day and will be hoping to recapture some of that form against her friend Anastasia Dobromyslova in what will be one of the games of the opening day in the Ladies' draw and also Andy Fordham returns to the stage as 'The Viking' takes on Darius Labanauskas in what should be a cracking game before the Durrant vs Williams main event to round off the evening's proceedings.
