Michael Smith saw off Ryan Searle on Friday in another win which underlined his title challenge for this year’s PDC World Darts Championship.

Smith will next play Luke Humphries and ‘Bully Boy’ said that while he was pleased, he still has a lot more in the tank.
‘When he played well, I stepped up and when he dropped off, I did the same thing but I did enough to win. There’s still a lot more to give and I am still happy I’ve got it in the tank,’ said Smith.
On the potential of being the champion in a few days time, he reiterated that he wants it to be the centrepiece at his wedding and he knows that whether it’s this year or in one to come, he will win it.
‘I keep saying I want the trophy to be the centrepiece at my wedding. I want it sat there on the table and when I go on honeymoon, then I’ll buy it’s own seat on the plane.’
He added: ‘I don’t deserve the trophy or don’t think I do. Whether it’s going to be now or in twenty years later, I know I'm going to win one and I hope it’s this year.’
