Michael Smith stays unbeaten with win over Simon Whitlock in Berlin

Michael Smith has got 8 out of 8 points in the Premier League defeating Simon Whitlock in Berlin. He stays top of the table with his 7-3 win.
Five 180’s from Smith punished 11 missed darts from the Aussie to maintain his winning start and inflict defeat on Whitlock for the first time.
This should hopefully assure the Bully Boy of safety no matter what happens. Smith was heavily fancied to be relegated but has maintained his good form by winning again.
The St Helens ace only averaged 87 but this was good enough to beat a lacklustre Wizard.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
