Mensur Suljovic has finally ended his winless run against Steve Beaton and in doing so he moves through to the second round of the World Matchplay.

Beaton mounted a late comeback as Suljovic failed at the final hurdle but he finally overcame it to stake his credentials for this years’ World Matchplay crown.
He spoke afterwards and he admitted that he is over the moon to win and that despite the tournament being hard to win he will give it his best shot.
"I am over the moon to win that game, I thought Steve Beaton would retire before I finally beat him!" admitted Suljovic, who now meets Ian White.
"I always give my best, there are so many good players in this tournament so it will be hard to win it but I will give it my best shot."
