Suljovic demolishes Whitlock, Chisnall comes from behind to beat Gurney and Van Gerwen continues streak at Masters

Michael van Gerwen continued his winning streak at The Masters in Milton Keynes. The Dutchman - who won the last four editions of this event - defeated Jonny Clayton 10-5.
The three-time world champion cruised into a 3-0 lead, before Clayton reduced the deficit in leg ten for 6-4. Van Gerwen turned on his turbo after the second break and hit a 12-dart leg and a superb 11-dart leg to lead 9-5. 'Mighty Mike' then hit double 9 to set-up a tie with Mensur Suljovic in the quarter-finals of The Masters.
Suljovic produced a brilliant display in seeing off Simon Whitlock. 'The Gentle' only dropped one leg in a 10-1 victory over the Australian. Suljovic had a stunning 106 average, hit four 180's and was 59% on his doubles.
Dave Chisnall came from behind to edge out Daryl Gurney. The Northern Irishman led 5-1 and 6-2, but missed chances to move 7-3 up. 'Chizzy' levelled in leg twelve, before sealing the win in the 18th leg with a well timed 101 finsh.
Stephen Bunting defeated Darren Webster after a cracker. 'The Demolition Man' missed one matchdart on double 11, before Bunting took the win with a terrific 86 finish on the bullseye.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
