Taylor defeats Bennett at ‘Power at the Tower’ event in London

Tuesday saw a unique event at the Tower of London with Phil Taylor taking on young prodigy Leighton Bennett for sponsors SAP.

This was streamed all over the world and it was Taylor who got the better of the youngster. Bennett showed glimpses of absolute class throughout showing age is very much just a number.
This included a 101 and a 124 checkout as he wrestled the match back in his favour after being 4-1 down. It became a thrilling contest that in the end was won 10-7 by the Power. Taylor averaged 96 to Bennett’s 93 with both players putting on a show in London.
Ahead of the exhibition match between Bennett and Taylor, 'The Power' defended his younger compatriot. His excitable nature attracted some criticism when the Lincolnshire ace beat Nathan Girvan to win the BDO World Youth Championship.
