With the Auckland darts Masters just one days away we take a look back at the top performances by average from the tournaments short history.
Gary Anderson sits atop of the tournaments highest average rankings, amassing a 111.37 against Raymond Van Barneveld in last year’s semi-final. The Scot, who was reigning world champion at the time, beat the former 5 time champion of the world 11-7 to set up a final with another former world champion Adrian Lewis.
The other 4 of the top five are split by no less than 0.27 points. Phil Taylor holds two of those, one of which being the only entry from the 2015 staging of the competition. The 16 time world champion beating Aussie ace Simon Whitlock in the Quarter finals. Taylors other entry to the list occurred against his very own protegee Adrian Lewis. Taylor would average over 5 points more then Lewis in there 2016 quarter final, but it was Lewis who took the spoils 10-9 on his way to the final.
The remaining 2 entries are held by James Wade and Michael van Gerwen. The pair also met at the quarter final stage in 2016 with Wade defeating the world number one 10-6.
