UK Open Qualifying 6: Round of 512 results - Hopp scrapes through

His Qualifying 6 win over Jason Marriott was no straightforward affair. The German ace checked out 101 on his way to a 6-4 victory, but rode his luck throughout. Joe Murnan stayed in with a chance by beating Ryan Searle 6-2, while Jeff Smith won 6-1 against Ian Jones. Martin Schindler joined compatriot Hopp in the round of 256 with an impressive 6-0 whitewash of Ricky Williams. Steve Lennon beat John Crossley 6-4, but will need to pick up more wins. Minehead dreams have been dashed in the early rounds, however. Dean Winstanley crashed out with a 6-3 loss against Leo Hendriks.
