The World Matchplay has been completed meaning that the PDC Order of Merit has been updated. Among the risers include Joe Cullen, Jonny Clayton and James Wilson who have gone up to career high rankings.

Cullen reached the latter stages of the tournament losing out on a first semi-final in the event to Gary Anderson, the eventual champion. ‘The Rockstar’ though has moved up to fifteenth in the rankings.
Being 15th instead of 16th helps as it means he would meet Peter Wright in Round 2 of a lot of majors as opposed to Michael van Gerwen.
Jonny Clayton and James Wilson despite not winning a game in this year’s World Matchplay continue their rise. Clayton up to 21st and Wilson to 28th respectively which are also career highs.
Jeffrey de Zwaan who reached the semi-finals is into the top 50 which is a remarkable achievement considering he started the year as a new tour card holder who £0 to his record. There is more scope for progress with players ahead of him close in terms of money.
The likes of Andrew Gilding, Devon Peterson and Rowby John Rodriguez are edging out of the top 64 meaning Q-School could be a major possibility.
Even the likes of Kevin Painter and Terry Jenkins are not safe with a lot of events left before the cut off and neither being in brilliant form.
Also the likes of Mickey Mansell and Paul Nicholson who have shown class form in spells this year with a World Championship appearance likely put the spots of the likes of Painter, Jenkins etc in further danger.
