Van Barneveld, Cadby & Jenkins among players to miss next Players Championship double header

The next Players Championship double header is coming up next weekend with of course some players skipping proceedings. Michael van Gerwen will make his return to the ProTour, his Dutch compatriot Raymond van Barneveld will not though.
Despite having a good run last time out on the Sunday, ‘Barney’ will sit next weekend out after playing in the Premier League next Thursday.
Joining Van Barneveld I’m skipping are the likes of Corey Cadby and Terry Jenkins. Cadby hasn’t competed in the UK since the UK Open and the wait for his return goes on. Jenkins has competed in most tournaments this year but has decided against heading to Wigan.
Richard North will skip on the Sunday which allows Ted Evetts to take his place. The likes of Michael Barnard, Diogo Portela and Jason Cullen will continue as well due to the Challenge Tour Order of Merit.

- It happens. Remember, anyone who has watched German and Dutch players in matches - their respective countries will have seen/heard just as bad jeering (if not worse). - Was watching an old World Masters final the other day between Eric Bristow and John Lowe, the crowd respect for both players on throw was first class, not a sound. You can imagine now the idiots who were whistling on De Deckers throw proudly boasting about it on social media. I even turned to my husband and said "Could you imagine this happening if Russ Bray was the referee tonight? At least there would have been a crowd admonishment- Ladies and Gentleman please."
