Van Barneveld dumps out Van Gerwen as semi-final line up confirmed at World Series of Darts Finals

The semi-final line up at the World Series of Darts Finals in Vienna has been confirmed with Raymond van Barneveld blowing the tournament wide open by knocking out Michael van Gerwen.
Van Barneveld took the early lead 3-1 but was pegged back by Mighty Mike who tied the game up then surged to a 6-4 lead.
‘Barney’ wasn’t done though and some world class finishing from the five time world champion brought him back into contention.
He went 9-7 up and it seemed like there was no way back for the Green Machine but the Dutchman nearly faltered as MVG reduced the arrears to 9-8.
In the following leg though more missed doubles meant that Barney could seal a brilliant win.
This ends a 13 match unbeaten run in this tournament for MVG as Van Barneveld now sets up a semi-final with James Wade later.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
