Michael van Gerwen showed once again last week that he is the man to beat on the darts circuit. With a huge display of power, 'Mighty Mike' won the Premier League Darts at the expense of Michael Smith.

Fellow dart player Vincent van der Voort thinks that no one can still match Van Gerwen's level for the time being. "At the moment no one can really threaten him", said ‘The Dutch Destroyer' to Telesport.
Four times, the 29-year-old Dutchman has already won the Premier League. The two-time world champion has participated a total of six times in the best darts competition in the world. With his remaining two participations Van Gerwen had to content himself with a second place. "Those are figures that no one can show", concludes Van der Voort.
Van Gerwen won the Premier League Darts last Thursday evening for the fourth time in his career. In his six participations in the prestigious competition he has made the final in which Mighty Mike has only lost only twice.
Especially in the final against Smith, 'MvG' made a big impression. Van Gerwen spent a long time around his own world record (123 average). In the end, Smith was defeated 11-4 and the number one in the world threw an average of 112 points.
''He dominated the stage. In that case his opponents have nothing to play for. What he showed there, was just out of this world'', said Van der Voort about his compatriot.
