Vincent van der Voort has successfully defended his title at the Double Double Dutch tournament. The 41-year-old darts player from Purmerend beat a tough Mitchell Schukkmann in the final. 'VvdV' previously had wins against Wesley Plaisier (4-2) and Devon Petersen (4-2).
Schukkmann reached the final after victory on Benito van de Pas (4-3) and Mike van Duivenbode (4-3) and finally finished in the final losing to VvDV. With an average of 113, Schukkmann took a 3-1 lead.
With a 15-darter, "The Dutch Destroyer" returned to the fray, after Schukkmann missed two arrows for 4-2. Van der Voort came back hitting double 16 and immediately then had a 62 finish. Schukkmann then missed two arrows which proved decisive, after which Van der Voort finished off to win the title.
