Michael van Gerwen says the Premier League Darts has lost a bit of his status. The Dutchman made this comment after his defeat to James Wade in Exeter.
''The Premier League Darts is not what it has been in the past'', Van Gerwen started in his conversation with RTL 7. ''Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor are not playing, while some other players are far away from their best form. Of course I want to perform well, but the Premier League has a different value now. It lost a bit of his status.'' Wade put an end to Van Gerwen's unbeaten run in the Premier League. The world number one had enough opportunities to stay ahead, but missed eight chances to break 'The Machine'. Wade took his chance with a 65 checkout and won four legs on the spin to claim a sensational 7-3 victory over the three-time world champion. ''I miss too many doubles in two legs and that shouldn't happen. You know James will come across with a nonchalant attitudde on stage and I still fall for it. I'm many better then this. James did the correct things on the correct moments, but I shouldn't let that happen.'' for more information about the Premier League Darts, including all the fixtures and the prize fund breakdown.
