Michael van Gerwen came through last night against Dave Chisnall in a thriller of a game and this game can now be considered the best in World Grand Prix history if statistics are anything to go by.

They both had a combined average of 199.32, the highest in World Grand Prix history with Van Gerwen hitting 101 and Chizzy 97.78.
The old record by comparison was in the Quarter-Finals of the 2016 tournament with MVG and Whitlock facing off. In this game, they had a combined average of 195.78.
This though of course was mostly led by Van Gerwen who hit an average of 103 compared to Whitlock’s 92.
