Van Gerwen and Chisnall lead Players Championships statistics tables after latest double header

The Players Championship played out it's 7th and 8th events out of 22 events in the season and despite not playing Michael van Gerwen still leads most of the tables with Dave Chisnall also leads two showing he is returning to form.
Van Gerwen leads the Order of Merit by a few thousand to Gary Anderson who like 'Mighty Mike' has won two events this season so far on the series. Adrian Lewis is third in this with Ian White with the 'Diamond' behind him despite winning a Players Championship title this season.
The World Number 1 also leads the highest averages with 99.90 compared to Rob Cross's second place effort of 98.27 with Gary Anderson also there with 97.78.
'Chizzy' leads the 180 count lending it to his high scoring ability, he is top of that table level with Adrian Lewis with 83 a piece. Stephen Bunting similarly is up there with 81.
Finally Chisnall also leads the 100+ checkouts with 25 in all including a best of 170. James Wilson is second place with 23 also hitting the same best. In addition Ryan Joyce, one of the stars of the series so far is 3rd with 19.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
