Van Gerwen in confident mood ahead of facing Hopp: 'I want to take the title off Peter'

Michael van Gerwen is in a confident mood ahead of the German Darts Masters taking place today in Gelsenkirchen. The World Number One will face a potentially tricky test in home favourite Max Hopp.

Van Gerwen is looking forward to it and admits he loves playing in the World Series. He has also said he wants to win as many titles as possible; and wants to take the title off Peter Wright. “I’m really looking forward to playing in this tournament in front of such a huge crowd,” said Van Gerwen who is aiming to claim one of the only World Series titles he has never won. He continued: “I love playing in the World Series and I am focused on winning as many titles as I can this year starting with this one – I want to take the title off Peter.”
