Michael van Gerwen will take on Daryl Gurney in the first confirmed semi-final at the Austrian Darts Open in a repeat of their Premier League clash this past Thursday which was won by the Northern Irishman.

Van Gerwen saw off Peter Wright in a match where Mighty Mike was very much there for the taking. He averaged only 89 to Wright's 92 but once again it came down to a last-leg decider.
This is a leg which as the stats show Van Gerwen doesn't lose with him claiming victory now in the last 24 going back nearly four years. MVG will probably take this as the scare he needed in the tournament as he aims for yet another European Tour title.
Gurney similarly didn't play the best in a match marred by missed doubles against Adrian Lewis. 'Superchin' hit 46 percent on his doubles and this was the difference with Lewis only hitting 26 percent.
What kept 'Jackpot' in the running was his superb scoring with 4 180's and 3 140's. Gurney will now know that he will need to up his game when he takes on Van Gerwen despite the Dutchman seemingly not at his sparkling best.
