Van Gerwen smashes Anderson in a relentless win to set up final with Smith

Michael van Gerwen will face Michael Smith in a repeat of the Premier League final as he goes for a third World title on New Years Day after an easy win at times against Gary Anderson.

The game was billed as a potential last set epic but it was far from it with Anderson only getting into it towards the end.
He suffered with release problems at the start which hampered his progress and from there Van Gerwen was relentless.
Van Gerwen gave Anderson little chance with him returning to his ruthless nature winning 6-1. He hit eleven 180’s showing this with a 105 average.
In the first set, it wasn’t all Van Gerwen with it going to a deciding leg. MVG though hit double 20 with his last dart in hand though to go ahead.
From there, Van Gerwen went into beast mode and won four sets in a row from there not giving him any breathing room in a relentless streak.
Anderson finally claimed a set in a deciding leg but in reality it was too big of a mountain to climb as Van Gerwen finished the job.
