Defending champion
Glen Durrant came from 4-1 down to beat Jim Williams 5-4 at the
Lakeside. After that incredible win, Scott Waites stands between him and a second successive final.
"I think that was the best match I've played on that stage," claimed Durrant, who averaged just over 100. The Middlesbrough ace labelled the win the toughest of his life, with close friend Williams left reeling after his comeback.
The match was given an extra layer of intrigue by Durrant's pre-match comments. He claimed that, should he win, he would remain a
BDO player until retirement. Duzza was asked if he plans to stick by that promise.
"Yes, unfortunately," he admitted. "I had a dream to play in the PDC, but I'm sick of the questions. At my age, I can't wait another year. So I'll just go down that route."
Check out the below
video for Durrant's full, and very frank, interview. His reaction to learning that Waites also won after going 4-1 down is well worth a listen!
