The
BDO world number one, and
Lakeside second seed, secured his maiden world final spot with a
6-4 win over Michael Unterbuchner. He will take on Glen Durrant, with the winner taking home the famous trophy and a £100,000 prize.
In a post-match interview, McGeeney praised the "clever" Unterbuchner for his performance. But the Gladiator maintained his superiority over his German opponent, and was relieved that it showed on the big stage. The second seed admitted frankly that he is still not satisfied with his all-round game. But he promised to put in some hours on the practice board before the final.
