Martin Adams is on the verge of celebrating a big milestone in his career so far. The three time World Champion will be going for a fourth when the Lakeside begins again this upcoming weekend.
It will be Martin Adams his 25th year competing at the Lakeside. Wolfie himself admits when you get to 25 you think, what about 30. Still every year it shows that the BDO legend has no signs of letting up and has another World crown in his sights.
He does have a tough test though in his opening round as he faces the BDO world number 1 Mark 'The Gladiator' McGeeney. A player who he has defeated recently at the Belgium Open winning in the Last 16 4-0. In 2016 he lost to McGeeney in the Isle of Man Open by 4-1 in the Quarter Final. That is one of the intriguing ties on the opening day of competition at the Lakeside.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024
