Steve West had a good run at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy reaching the semi-finals for the first time in a European Tour event. World Matchplay qualification also seems likely as a result now for a second successive year.
’Simply’ currently sits 9th in the rankings ahead of the cut off for the World Matchplay. He is qualified for the next European Tour event so is about safe.
Players that might not include Jelle Klaasen & Keegan Brown with Josh Payne & Richard North on the verge of overtaking them.
Alan Norris in the main Order of Merit could also miss out on a World Matchplay spot with not a lot between him, Adrian Lewis & Joe Cullen.
