Whitlock lethal in defeating Kanik, Meulenkamp dumps out Gurney & Van Gerwen starts campaign with win over Menzies

The second round continues in Leverkusen and the first few players through all barring one is a seed. Simon Whitlock defeated Tytus Kanik and Michael van Gerwen saw off Cameron Menzies but Daryl Gurney, a Premier League players lost out to Ron Meulenkamp in a shock result.
In the first game, 'The Wizard' was lethal against Tytus Kanik who has impressed this year so far. He hit six doubles from seven attempts in a 6-2 victory. This backs up the form Whitlock has displayed in the Premier League and he will be hoping to add the title in Leverkusen to that to prove the critics wrong.
Ron Meulenkamp dumped out Daryl Gurney following that. He knocked out the World Number five in a 6-4 victory hitting seven 180's in his win as 'The Bomb' continues his great form.
Then Michael van Gerwen came from 2-0 down like against Michael Smith on Thursday in the Premier League to knock out Cameron Menzies 6-3 and book his place in the final day of the European Darts Open.

- Is this the start of an attempt to say that he (Littler) is the best ever as he has won most money. Perhaps adjust all prize money earned by allowing for inflation. If Littler gets close too (does not even have to overtake) both MVG’s and Taylor’s Major titles total then he is in the conversation.
