Beau Greaves would ordinarily be at Lakeside this time of year playing in the WDF World Championship but it is very much all change as she embarks on a new portion of her career as she is playing in Super Darts and is through to the Quarter-Finals
A path which has previously been tread for some years by a certain Paul Lim who isn't involved this weekend but he has long been the flag bearer for this discipline which still acts as the top way to enjoy the sport in Asia.
How it differs is that the board has preset holes in them which hold the soft tip darts with the points made of plastic this means that players can use their own signature barrels but they convert the points to be used on the arcade type machines.
The throw line is also 2.75 inches further away from the board. Also the bullseye is the highest scoring area worth 50 points for both inner and outer bullseye and also is bigger than the treble 20 for instance so often players go for this over the usual numbers.
Super Darts follows the same unique match format through the whole event. Each match is broken into multiple different disciplines to keep players on their toes starting with a 501 with multiple legs of Standard Cricket in between. In 501, they must achieve this in 15 rounds if neither player finishes then a cork will be played and the closest to the bull wins. This also helps dictate who gets the throw to begin the match and given the use of the bull in soft-tip being prevalent, losing this can dictate the rest of the match for a player.
Cricket is also used which is mainly an American used discipline where the numbers between 15 and 20 are used and the player must hit the number three times.
They must close the target almost like a tally chart system where it is closed after they hit a treble, double or single. Once all of the numbers and bull are closed, the player with the highest points wins.

How the format works

Leg One501 (25/50 Bull)
Leg TwoStandard Cricket
Leg ThreeStandard Cricket
Leg Four501 (25/50 Bull)
Leg Five501 (25/50 Bull)
Leg SixStandard Cricket
Leg SevenChoice
Onto the action and with it being first to four, Beau Greaves won her match today as per ichibandarts 4-1 winning everything apart from the first round of cricket in a dominant display. She also hit a superb 180 during one of her matches which was as effortless as ever from Beau n Arrow.
She will face off against either Man Lok Leung or Ryuta Arihara tomorrow who have to face off still in the first game on. They ran out of time for that match on Saturday. Other winners included Jose Justicia who was the best on display on Saturday winning 4-0 with the best overall average. Seigo Asada also won through defeating Yan Bin Chen.
Also wins for Terry Tan who hails from Malaysia, Lylian Le Calvez of France, Minseok Choi of Korea and Keita Ono of Japan meaning very much a spread of different nations. Boris Krcmar who played Super Darts instead of Lakeside and was previously the dominant force in soft tip winning multiple world titles was beaten 4-2 by Minseok Choi.
It is Asada v Justiica, Tan v Le Calvez, Choi v Ono and Greaves vs the winner of the final Last 16 tie before the semi-finals and finals. The winner receives 10million yen which is £48,350 in GBP.
