The whirlwind success of Luke Littler over the
past two years has propelled the teenager into the sporting spotlight, making
him one of England's most popular athletes. He achieved the 'Triple Crown' this
summer when he won the
World Matchplay title - just 18 months after turning
pro.
His growing trophy cabinet and regular wins are
well documented, but there are some points his fans may not be too aware of.
Below, we dive deeper into the true story behind Littler's rise to
superstardom.
As the 2025 season draws to a close, Littler will
be aiming to defend his world title at Alexandra Palace, and darts fans can

Where
is Luke Littler From?
Luke Littler was born on 21 January 2007 in
Runcorn, Cheshire, before settling in Warrington with his dad, Anthony Buckley,
and mum Lisa Littler. It wasn't long until he was picking up darts, with his
mum showing footage of Littler hitting a magnetic board as a toddler in
nappies.
The young prodigy joined the St Helens Darts
Academy at the age of 10 and was quickly playing against much older competitors
at the Sutton Leach club.
It was back in 2021 when Littler truly announced
himself as a darts prodigy after becoming the youngest player to pull off the
perfect leg at the JDC MVG Masters in 2021, aged just 14.
How
Tall is Luke Littler?
Height doesn't usually play a part in darts as
proven by the most successful player of all time, Phil Taylor, who stands tall
at 5ft 7in.
Some giants have stood at the oche, such as Cor
Dekker (6ft 9in), while the likes of Raymond van Barneveld and Stephen Bunting
stand well over 6ft.
But Littler, who has already been touted to
follow in the footsteps of 'The Power', also measures
5ft 7in tall .
Interestingly, that's only one inch shorter than
the standard height of a dartboard from the floor to the bullseye (5ft 8in).
What
Darts Does Luke Littler Use and How Much Do They Weigh?
Littler currently uses darts made by Target, who
snapped up the teenager on a multi-million pound agreement back in 2024.
His current darts of choice are called the Luke
Littler Gen 1, custom-built for him and made of 90% tungsten.
They weigh 23 grams in total, and the barrels are
covered in a black performance coating of PVD. They are then completed with an
intermediate No.6 K-Flex and 42mm SLK Points.
Luke
Littler's Earnings
The teenage prodigy is approaching two years as a
professional darts player, in which he's won an abundance of trophies and prize
money to go with it.
According to
dartsdatabase, Littler has
accumulated close to £2.5million in prize money alone (As of October 30, 2025).
But that is possibly a drop in the ocean compared
to some of the commercial deals Littler has signed up to. His sponsorship with
Target is worth millions as well as collaborations with McDonald's, boohooMAN,
Xbox and KP Nuts, among others.
Littler's earnings are only going to increase
while he continues to dominate the world of darts.
Luke
Littler’s Walk-On Song
One of the most instantly recognisable parts of
Luke Littler’s entrance is his walk-on music. His tune of choice is Greenlight
by Pitbull (featuring Flo Rida & LunchMoney Lewis), released in 2016.
Littler has said he chose the track after a
childhood trip with his father to WrestleMania 33, where it made a strong
impression.
The high-energy beat and the distinctive “Red
light, green light” chorus have become a signature within darts arenas, with
fans often singing along as he makes his way to the oche.
Littler was asked back in 2024 while featuring on
JackMaate's Happy Hour Podcast whether he had any plans of changing his
walk-on song, to which he replied: “For the time being (I will keep it). I
haven’t even thought about (using other songs).”
