Rob Cross smashes Phil Taylor to sensationally win title in first World Darts Championship

Rob Cross has sensationally won the World Darts Championship in his first year as a professional dart player. After winning his tour card a year ago, he won the Challenge Tour and 4 Pro Tour titles. He als reached a major final at the European Championship.

No-one saw Rob Cross winning the World Darts Championship. Though he smashed Phil Taylor 7-2 in Taylor's final ever professional match. Taylor did not do a lot wrong but in a van Gerwen-esque performance Cross gave the 16 times champion no breathing room. He averaged an unbeatable 107.67 and even in a leg where Taylor wired a D12 for a 9 dart finish, Cross still won the leg to show the dominance he had.
