Michael van Gerwen has hit his second nine darter in consecutive Players Championship events in his win over Jamie Hughes.
Van Gerwen went a bizarre way once again, as he went for 177, 174 and 150 to claim yet another perfect leg. The world number one hit an unique nine-dart finish last weekend as well, as he hit treble 19, treble 16 and double to throw a stunning 141 checkout after two maximum scores.
It was the first time this route has been used to hit a nine-dart finish on a live broadcast.
