Phil Taylor will return to his favourite tournament this month, the World Matchplay; but not as a player but as a pundit as he joins the Sky Sports Darts team.
Taylor who bowed out of the sport at the start of the year with a loss to Rob Cross in the final of the World Championship won his last major in Blackpool.
This move will probably not be full time due to Taylor’s schedule still being dominated by darts with exhibitions and after-dinners but it could foreshadow further work for such tournaments as the World Championship.
It won’t be his debut as a pundit with him covering the BDO with John Part many years ago but it will be his first foray into it for a while and his first on Sky Sports.
