DRA announce affiliation with UKDA

The DRA (Darts Regulation Authority) have announced an affiliation with the UKDA (United Kingdom Darts Association).

The former are an independent regulator who are known for their work with the PDC and now the UKDA as a new amateur body working on the county system will adopt the DRA rules.

Nigel Mawer QPM, Chairman of the DRA spoke of his desire for all darts organisations to follow suit.

“The DRA is keen to join up all darts organisations worldwide under one regulator working to one set of rules. Today’s agreement with the UKDA is another excellent step down that road, we are looking forward to working with the UKDA in continuing to professionalise all aspects of their events.”

Johnny Stefano, Chairman of the UKDA said: “Over the last few months there has been ongoing talks between the UKDA and the DRA, much of this work has been done by the UKDA’s Chief Disciplinary Officer Stephen Greenwood to ensure that a positive polarity is achieved between the two associations and I’m delighted that we will now have a professional regulator who are striving to bring all bodies throughout the world under its governance of rules, we now look forward to working closely with them to ensure the UKDA events are the best they can possibly be.”

UKDA Chief Disciplinary Officer Stephen Greenwood shares his delight adding: “I am absolutely delighted to have worked with the DRA over the last few months and extremely pleased to have achieved a pathway that now allows The UKDA to move forward under the Darts Regulator Authority, it’s my belief this is a must for any darts organisation”.
