The Dutch Open Darts, one of the biggest tournaments on the road to the WDF World Championship at Lakeside has been cancelled due to a rising number of Covid-19 infections in the Netherlands.
The government announced new measures on 9 July and with no multi-day events allowed until 13 August, there is uncertainty on whether the tournament could take place.
As a result, the organisers in the NDB and De Bonte Wever have decided to cancel the tournament which was set to take place on September 3, 4 and 5 2021.
This does not currently affect the World Masters though which is set to take place in the venue between December 2-5 and the Dutch Open will return in its regular spot of early February next year.
