Haines will prove a potentially tricky test for Brian Raman who he is set to face in the second round on Monday evening.

While the Ladies' action began with Paula Jacklin who despite being known as 'Kick-Ass' didn't provide such a display.
Jacklin who is the wife of the former BDO chairman, Des has previously lost on five previous appearances in a whitewash win has only lost to Aileen de Graaf or Lisa Ashton.
This time it was Rhian O'Sullivan who dealt a whitewash win finishing it off with a 78 checkout averaging 85 in a quality display from the Welshwoman. It was all 17 darters in particular in the final set including a 96 checkout prior to the 78 checkout to win.
