James Hurrell and
Deta Hedman won the singles titles at the 2022 WDF
Scottish Open on Sunday evening and as a result are both certain of playing at the 2023 WDF World Championship.
Hurrell won the men's title at the expense of Ryan Murray (6-5). 'Hillbilly' beat Mark Blandford, Jim McEwan and James Beeton on his way to the final.
Hedman was the best among the ladies by beating Jo Clements 5-4 in the final. She had also defeated Zoe Holland, Crissy Manley, Aileen de Graaf and Suzanne Smith, among others. World champion Beau Greaves lost 4-3 to losing finalist Clements in the last eight.
