Men's Draw WDF World Championship Lakeside 2025: Potential Pallett-Krcmar, Duff-Robb and Brandon v teenage sensation Lawrie ties among highlights

The draw has been made for the men's tournament of the WDF World Championship 2025, which will take place at the iconic Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, December 7.
The tournament consists of 48 participants. The top-16 of the placement list will enter from the second round, the remaining 32 players will simply start the WDF World Cup from the first round.
Jimmy van Schie, number one in the world with the WDF, starts his tournament against Alex Williams or Romeo Grbavac. Corne Groeneveld will meet the winner of the match between Ryan Hogarth and Jonas Masalin.
Stefan Schroder will make his Lakeside debut against defending champion Shane McGuirk. The Irishman has to beat Petri Rasmus in the first round. Former WDF world champion Neil Duff will face Ben Robb or Johan Engstrom, while former Tour Card holder David Pallett will face Boris Krcmar or Kevin Luke.

Teenage sensation Lawrie one of the big hopes

One of the outsiders for the title is Mitchell Lawrie, who will be only 15 years old when he takes the Lakeside stage. The Scottish teenage sensation managed to win the British Open and Welsh Open among adults this year. Lawrie will meet Tomoya Maruyama in the first round, while second-seeded Jason Brandon awaits.
Liam Maendl-Lawrance will be among the seeds this year and he opens up against Caleb Hope or Darren Johnson, the latter a known quantity as a former PDC Tour Card Holder. Raymond Smith will also snub a potential PDC World Darts Championship spot and faces World Open winner Cliff Prior or Clint Clarkson from Canada making his debut.
American former Dutch Open finalist David Fatum will also return to the stage and faces Jenson Walker or Jiri Brejcha. While Thomas Junghans as 14th seed faces Jim McEwan or Stephen Rosney. Matt Clark could also face another familiar foe as Haruki Muramatsu returns to the World stage to face Vince Tipple. While James Beeton also will face potentially Swedish strongman Dennis Nilsson or Shane Sakchekapo, the Canadian debutant.
