Stompé returned to Lakeside: "Nothing has changed, time has really stood still"

Co Stompé was a notable guest at the WDF Lakeside World Championship last week. Stompé told his story about it on Viaplay.

Stompé himself played twelve BDO World Championships at Lakeside Country Club between 1996 and 2008. "It was great to go back there, there is something magical about that venue. Actually, that venue is much bigger in terms of status at the moment than the players who took part in the tournament", says The Matchstick.

The 59-year-old Dutchman noticed something else. "About everything is still exactly the same as when I first arrived. The carpet, the hotel rooms, the lighting, nothing has changed. It's all part of the atmosphere there, time has really stood still."
