Van Peer wins men's title at Dutch Open Darts in Assen

Berry van Peer has crowned himself winner of the men's tournament at the Dutch Open in Assen. He beat Andy Baetens in the final.

He had beaten the likes of Martijn Dragt (4-2), Joey ten Berge (5-2) and Arjan Konterman (2-0 in sets) to qualify for the final match. He then faced Baetens, who had eliminated defending champion Jelle Klaasen in the semi-final.

The first set went 3-0 to the Belgian, but then Van Peer took the momentum by winning six of the next seven legs to take a 2-1 lead. In set four Baetens took a 2-1 lead, but an 18-darter and a 12-darter allowed Van Peer to come alongside and take the title at the biggest open tournament in the world.
