Peter Wright is through to the Quarter-Finals of the Masters after a 10-5 win over Alan Norris to end Day 1 with all the players expected to get through doing so as he joins Rob Cross, Mensur Suljovic and Raymond van Barneveld.
‘Snakebite’ was an early loser at the World Championship and due to that and his recent health problems, it wasn’t a certainty what Wright would come out but he cruised through in the end.
Despite the scoreline, Wright didn’t play towards his top gear averaging 97 but against an off par Alan Norris it seemed like he didn’t have to play his best.
For Norris it is yet another early exit in a tournament he will have to go away and try and get his form back on track for the rest of the tournaments this year.
