Peter Wright is a champion on the World Series and for the first time over in Australia after winning the Melbourne Darts Masters.

Wright on the semi-finals saw off Michael van Gerwen meaning a very even final in prospect between him and Shanghai Darts Master Michael Smith.
An 11-8 victory meant that it was just that and it’s joy for ‘Snakebite’ who claims his second title of a barren year so far.
The former German Darts Master hit 5 180’s and a highest checkout of 131 compared to Smith’s same amount of 180’s and a high checkout of 120.
Despite that though Smith had a better double percentage of 57% showing that if Wright had not hit the big checkouts it could have been a different outcome.
