After Michael van Gerwen’s early exit at the World Matchplay, Peter Wright is the highest seeded player left in the tournament.
Wright was not surprised at all by the early defeat of his Dutch rival, Snakebite said after his victory over Jelle Klaasen. Van Gerwen was edged out by compatriot Jeffrey de Zwaan on Saturday evening.
“We all can beat each other”, the Scotsman told Live Darts.
“Michael [Van Gerwen] is not a great player, he’s a good player. A great player is Phil Taylor and he’s not in the tournament.”
