Adams set to face Thornton in final of 2022 World Seniors Darts Championship

It will all come down to Martin Adams and Robert Thornton to decide the winner of the 2022 World Seniors Darts Championship on Sunday evening at the Circus Tavern.

Adams is the only player in the final who is a previous World Champion having won three times and will aim to add a fourth triumph later this evening.

This against Thornton who saw off Kevin Painter earlier and will aim for his first and the inaugural edition at that.

'Wolfie' saw off Terry Jenkins 4-2 halting the run of 'The Bull' and now two of the pre-tournament favourites will face off.

Jenkins began the clash in the lead taking the opening set but Adams brought himself level snatching it in a decider.

It was once again a decider in the third set but it was a pivotal one for Adams as the legend smashed in a 145 checkout to head into a 2-1 lead with back-to-back sets.

Jenkins wasn't done and brought himself level shortly after albeit not in a decider claiming it 3-1 to restore parity. But in what was a pivotal moment in the context of the clash, he missed two darts for the next set and Adams pounced on double five to regain the upper hand.

Adams missed a 118 checkout for the match and Jenkins reduced the deficit with a 91 checkout on the bull but 'Wolfie' hit straight back with a 55 checkout to claim victory.
