"I will win one!" - Richie Howson determined not to be bridesmaid again at World Seniors Champion of Champions

Richie Howson impressed in the quarterfinals of the Champion of Champions. The 58-year-old Englishman defeated defending champion Leonard Gates 10-2 in a repeat of last year's final.

"I really wanted that one badly. I was so focused and when I saw Leonard strugging a little bit, I thought just get on top of him," Howson reflected post-match. "We know how good Leonard is and Leonard didn't play his game up there. But I think I put him under a bit of pressurecand forced him to to play like that."

With Gates defeated and reigning Seniors World Champion, John Henderson also knocked out, Howson is now one of the standout candidates to take the title. "I have got to still be on my game," Howson, who will take on Martin Adams in the semi-finals, insists. "I won't be taking anybody lightly."

'The Owl' reached three finals on the World Seniors Darts Tour last year, but failed to win any of them. "I will win one!" Howson concludes defiantly.
